I am excited to enter this phase of my tennis career as NJTL Program Manager for the Pasadena Tennis Association.  What is NJTL?  It is the National Junior Tennis & Learning program started by Arthur Ashe. Our program offers academic tutoring and SAT prep courses through the Winward Academy. For more information contact us today.

    Class Descriptions

    Drop Shot Class

    Red Ball (ages 4 - 6yrs)

    Saturday: 9:00 - 9:30 a.m. (30 mins)

    This class is for our youngest players new to tennis who may not be ready for a one-hour class.  Agility, Balance, Coordination. Fun games and activities make learning tennis FUN! USTA Net Generation.


    Beginner & Adv, Beginner Classes

    Red, Orange, Green Dot Balls (ages vary)

    Thursday: 4 - 5 p.m. & Green Dot only: 5 - 6 p.m. (5 p.m. returns in March

    Learn the basics of tennis. Classes are designed for players new to the sport of tennis. Agility, Balance, Coordination. Fun games and activities make learning tennis FUN! USTA Net Generation & Youth Progression.

    Saturday: 9 - 10 a.m.


    Intro to Intermediate

    Yellow Balls (ages 11 up)

    Monday & Wednesday: 4 - 5:30 p.m.

    This class is for middle and high school players ready for the next phase of tennis. Emphasis is placed on stroke production, fitness/conditioning, singles & doubles. Middle and high school preparation. Intro to tournament competition.

    Saturday: 10 - 11:30 a.m.


    Intermediate Classes

    Yellow Balls (ages vary)

    Monday & Wednesday: 4 - 5:30 p.m.

    Intermediate Yellow ball players. This class is for players who play competitive tennis. Level 6 & 5 tournaments, Middle & High school players. Emphasis is placed on stroke production, fitness/conditioning, singles & doubles. 

    Saturday: 10 - 11:30 p.m.


    Advanced & Match Play Groups

    Ages vary.

    Monday or Wednesday 4 - 5:30 p.m.

    For competitive players. Emphasis is placed on stroke production, footwork, match play, consistency, strategy & player confidence.  


    Tournament Player Group

    EVALUATION REQUIRED - Call or email for information

    Saturday: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. (2 hr)

    High Intensity

    Fitness & Conditioning

    Singles & Doubles

    High performance & tournament preparation.

    NOTE: This is the first phase of the required enrollment process. Upon receiving your pre-registration, an official enrollment form will be emailed.

    Stay Active - Simple exercises you can do at home

    Keep your tennis form and fitness in tact:

     

    • Shadow swings:  Forehand, backhand, serves, volley, lobs
    • Hit against a wall or garage door
    • Practice your toss and serve motion
    • Practice with a friend or a family member at your local park
    • Push-ups & Sit-ups
    • Running  & Jump rope
    • Yoga and/or stretches
